# Locking (Builder Program)

### Lock SYMM to receive fee rebates

The SYMMIO Builders Program allows frontends and builders to commit SYMM in exchange for applicable fee rebates when trading on SYMMIO or providing others with access to trading.

Following an initial program for selected frontends, the Builders Program officially opened to everyone in **September 2026**.

To participate, you lock SYMM by **burning tokens to create a Builders NFT**. The NFT represents your committed SYMM in the program. You can also add SYMM to a Builders NFT you already own.

> **Before you lock:** Exiting the program does not return your SYMM immediately. Under the current settings, burning your Builders NFT starts a **six-month cliff followed by 12 months of linear vesting**. Your NFT-related fee rebates end immediately when the NFT is burned.
